Sinfest is a daily comic strip by Tatsuya Ishida and the subject of this wiki. A thorough history is available in the Reddit r/sinfest post "Want to Know About Sinfest? Check Here!" by u/MakesYouWonderINC.

Sinfest originally featured four-panel black and white strips that relied on dark humor and pop culture references. The main characters were Slick (a womanizing slacker), Monique (a feminist activist), and Squigley (a pig who likes to smoke weed). The comic also introduced various supporting characters such as God, the Devil, Buddha, Jesus, Time, and Uncle Sam.

Over the years, Sinfest evolved into a more serious and complex work that explored themes such as American exceptionalism, slu*t-shaming, misogyny, street harassment, gender identity, and social justice.^[1] Ishida also started to produce full-color pages on Sundays that often featured longer storylines or experimental formats. Some of his recurring segments include Dragon Ball Z parodies, sci-fi adventures, musical numbers, and metafictional commentary.^[1]

In 2020-2021, Sinfest began to express alt-right views and conspiracy theories and became more hostile and aggressive towards critics and former supporters. Sinfest became more violent, hateful, and nonsensical.^[2]

Below is a suggested set of rules to follow when editing this wiki. Administrators of this wiki should read these rules and adapt them as necessary.

General[]

1. Keep it civil: Do not make personal attacks on other people, including Tats. If you need to criticize another user’s argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
2. Be a productive member of the wiki: Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Need help? Ask an administrator! Disrupting the wiki with “edit warring” over differing opinions of a topic with another user or group of users is not productive. If you're interested in becoming an admin, make at least 10 productive contributions, then ask an existing admin!
3. Do not engage in excessive self-promotion: The wiki is a collaborative community resource for the topic at hand. It is NOT a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc. Have a question about whether your link would be welcome? Ask an administrator!
4. Do not harass other users: If somebody asks you to stop posting certain content on their wall, respect their wishes. It is their wall.
5. Do follow community guidelines for formatting: When a community has established formatting, it’s important to adhere to that, especially when spoiler content is involved. Use / update templates where possible. Look for examples of similar content to what you want to add.

1. Do not (re)post full comics here: Instead, link out to the official site and social media channels. Use individual frames for illustrations.
2. Remove outdated images: For example, when replacing a latest appearance image, check the File usage of the image you're replacing. If it's no longer used anywhere, delete it.
