We used all the music from John Debney's archive.

Maybe there is a way to revisit this on a potential volume 2. We all felt our version was a solid presentation of the pilot episode.

UGH! I wish I'd noticed the update in this thread before I e-mailed! Now, you're getting the same question twice!

I agree that Disc 1 was solid. Having the theme just flow right into the next cue was great. Overall, that disc was a fantastic expansion! It was just odd to not have the weekly theme as the opening for Disc 2. I was looking forward to hearing it in better quality because the old Varese album...let's just say you guys knocked it out of the park with the remastering!

The choir is one of those elements that I never really appreciated until it was gone. The theme just doesn't sound the same without it IMO. Evidently, I'm not the only one who misses it.

I really hope it's something you guys are able to do for the second volume.

Also...I really hope there IS a second volume.

Certainly didn't see this "SeaQest" release coming. The release happened during my multiple-month hiatus from the board, so it's a welcomed surprise. I hope the sales spur more sets from them.

Seaquest is a great set and an instant purchase--have listened all the way through multiple times. Would definitely be on board for a Volume 2!

Just to clarify, does Varese's Deluxe Edition have all the same music as the previous single CD release, or does one need to own both in order to have all the music from the show?

The old CD was the pilot score, this includes cues from other episodes. And owning both will not get you "all the music from the show"; it would take multiple multi-CD sets to cover the whole show.

The old CD does also include music from "Knight of Shadows" and "Such Great Patience." This release covers all three scores (while expanding them) and includes a few more. But it is barely scratching the surface since each episode had an original score.

You'll need the original release for the main title which is not included on The Deluxe Edition for some reason. Ford Thaxton pointed out that the original CD uses a synthetic choir - so the legit Title theme has never been released - save that for the hopefully upcoming Davis volume!

Agree. But I always assumed the Deluxe Edition must be complete. Just wondering why Varese missed out on some cues ...
Moreover, this is not the only missing cues. I know this because I recently watched a movie. Several short scores are still missing.
But, of course, I am pleased with this edition of Running Man and the possibility of buying also digitally, as very often the parcels to my country just disappear ...
