it is a 1992 YSR50, street legal, fully registered, has a licence plate. engine has a 20mm carb which has been jetted to accomodate to engine, a TCR preformance exaust is on the bike, as well as aluminum rims with TT91 tyres that have 70% of the tread left. its got frame sliders and new bar ends as well as a new windsheild. the paint job is compleatly new and damn near flawless, check out pics at:

i'm just wonder how much ya all think i could sell the bike for, how much its worth etc etc. i want to upgrade to an 80cc adventually, so i'm looking to see how much my bike is worth, so i could sell it and buy an 80cc with a bit more cash.

i baught the bike for $1200, and the plastics were shotty as hell, paint was trashed, it needed new tyres, and it had race wiring only (ie, no generator, no battery, no headlight, signals, brake light, speedo etc). so i figure now its gotta be worth around $1500 to $1800, maybe more?

for those too lazy to click on the link, heres a pic of it before i added the windsheild and bar ends.

i do have a lot of work in it

question is how much is all the work work i guess. i allready have $1650 in the bike

Bike 1200
Tax+registration 85
kickstand 5
20/50 Castrol oil (2/04, 3/04) 5
fuel filter (2/04) 2
horn 5
speedo 5
brake light 5
ignition 70
front brake light sensor 15
battery 10
neutral light 5
fuses 5
green+purple paint 135
magnet oil drain plug 5
frame sliders 20
black bar ends 15
clear windscreen 40
seat & underseat support 25

Grand Total: 1657

this doesnt include the tyres that i got on the bike for extra cheap. and doesnt include the countless hours i spent painting the bike, chaing the oil, spark plugs, brake fluid, and doesnt include the fact that i installed a lighting and charging coil into the bike... It should be noted the bike is allready race wired.

If i could get a good $1800 (which i think is a fair price), i'd sell it and get a YSR80.... any buyers!? Newly painted YSR50 appraisal wanted !!! (10)

You would be disappointed with the YSR80 engine.

Keep the bike and do this:

Get it ported and polished
Get the Head milled for more compression
get the engine bored to 44 = 60cc engine

Rejet and enjoy.

First of, I want a 50 really badly... and yours is cool.

HOWEVER

Rebuilding anything, be it a car, motorcycle, or fiddy, is not exactly a for-profit endeavor. If you get what you put into it, you did a good job selling.

Just IMO though.

Yeah supply and demand determines price.. I wish it weren't the case- see Ebay. Look at how much new NSRs cost! Not cheap at $3500 with no street parts. Honda bean counters wouldn't realease a bike like that in the US unless they knew there was a market place.

Superhawk gave him a good deal during a time when they were not in demand (end of season) Newly painted YSR50 appraisal wanted !!! (16)

I'm selling mine cheap relative to the market and got a few buyers already lined up. IMHO

I got another agenda... I want to sell it cheap to fill the grids Newly painted YSR50 appraisal wanted !!! (17)

I'm building another one.. I may sell cheap, so I can race an XR100. Only time will tell.
