Hey, When it says "must be alphanumeric" you have to do this:
this sign(&) and then a number with no space like this &6 Hello there! ---> Hello there!

Put in the & symbol and a number to change the color. Ex.: &1Herpaderp would turn out as Herpaderp

As said by previous people in these threads just prefix the text in your sign or housing name with those color codes. For example,
Putting "&9darthdoesmc" would show the text darthdoesmc in blue. These prefixes do count towards the maximum characters per line of a sign though.

There are multiple codes for doing certain colors. You just ad & infront of it like this &1Ayyo
&1=Dark Blue &2=Dark Green &3-Cyan &4=Dark Red &5=Purple &6=Orange &7=Light Gray &8=Dark gray &9= I forgot xD
&a= Neon Green &b= Neon Blue &c =Light Red/Redish Pink &d= Pink &e= I forgot again x3 and &f= White. &l Can also be black. Now, &L can be used to make things more bold, &n Can underline things, and &Kuuuu Can work with tongues. Those are all the codes I know currently. So I hope this helped you!
