What is Flex Time?
Flex Time is a period of time within the school day that allows us to deliver social emotional Learning, take care of school business like survey’s and assemblies, and allows students to receive additional help or instruction from their teachers.
How does Flex Time work?
At Liberty, Flex Time will be divided into two different types of days: Homeroom days and Flex days.
| Homeroom days | Students will be assigned to a specific teacher and classroom that will serve as their “Homeroom” for the entire year. During Homeroom, students will receive social emotional curriculum, go to assemblies, and fit in other day to day business that comes up over the course of the year. |

| Flex days | Students will be able to request to go to one of their teacher’s classrooms to get extra help or may be requested by their teachers to come to their classroom for support on that day. Students who don’t request extra support, or who are not requested to attend by one of their teachers, will be assigned to a class by the school where they can study or work independently on homework. |
When is Flex Time?
Flex time happens after 1st period (9:25–10:05 a.m.) on Tuesdays, and at the end of the school day (3:00–3:45) on Wednesdays.
How do students request help?
All students and teachers will log in to an application called Enriching Students. This platform will allow teachers to schedule students to attend during a Flex period, and will allow students to be able to request extra help during a Flex period.
You candownload the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Search for “Enriching Students”.
How do students get login info / trained to use the Enriching Students application?
Students will be trained to use Enriching Students during a Homeroom day in September, a week or two prior to our first Flex day.
Will students receive a grade for Flex Time?
No. Students will not receive a grade nor will they earn credit for Flex Time. It is a social emotional and instructional support not an academic course.
Do students have to attend Flex Time? Will Attendance be taken?
Yes, all students are expected to attend Flex Time. Attendance will be taken and tracked each period.
Students may not leave campus during Flex Time without permission or being excused via the attendance office.
How will students know what type of day it is? (Homeroom or Flex?)
Homeroom will occur every Tuesday throughout the school year, and on the first few Wednesdays in September. See theFlex Time Homeroom Calendar that identifies which days are Homeroom days and which are Flex days.
